Behind a solid performance from first baseman Bryan Wilson, the Scottsdale Scorpions defeated the Caribbean Commies, 5-2. Wilson went 2 for 4 with 2 singles for the Scorpions. The win was credited to Dave Francisco in relief. His record improves to 7-5. Jerry Ordaz took the loss. Steve Higgins saved it for Scottsdale.

Manuel Llanes aided the Scottsdale cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third. For the game, the catcher went 2-4 with 2 singles.

Wilson told a Scottsdale Times reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.

Scottsdale is 28-34 and Caribbean, with the loss, 37-25.
