Victory Pushes Rangers Record to 33-28
|
Rockville played host to Long Beach at the friendly confines of Brewbaker Memorial Stadium.
Long Beach got a terrific performance from pitcher Mike True, but it wasn't enough to beat the Rockville Rangers. Rockville won the Brewbaker Memorial Stadium contest, 6-3. True was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 8 innings allowing 6 runs. Juan Guzman, credited with the win, is now 2-3. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 3 innings.
The Rangers got a big at-bat from third baseman Jose Sanchez. For the game, Sanchez was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Rockville a 2-0 lead.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Sanchez said after the game.
The Rangers bumped their record to 33-28 with this latest triumph.
