The Commies had to overcome a good performance from Brooklyn pitcher Andrew Welborn to claim a 4-3 win at Vin Scully Park. Welborn went 8 innings and allowed 4 earned runs. The Commies bumped their record to 34-19 with this latest triumph.

Ivan Carreon aided the Caribbean cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the third. For the game, the center fielder went 2-4 with 2 singles.

"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Brooklyn manager Alex Romero.
