Javalinas Bang Out 6-3 Win Versus Santa Barbara
|
Despite a great performance by Santa Barbara first baseman Salvatore Marroquin, the Las Cruces Javalinas defeated the Suenos by the score of 6-3 at Dream Park. Marroquin was 4-5 with a home run, a triple, and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The save was credited to Danny Jensen, his 12th. Las Cruces is 23-27 and Santa Barbara, with the loss, 21-29.
Las Cruces used the timely hitting of Jose Pozos to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Javalinas on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Pozos.
