Strickland Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits
It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Matt Strickland today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Brewbaker Memorial Stadium and paced the Diamonds to a 5-3 win over the Rockville Rangers.

After his dynamite batting performance, the Tunica left fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control."

His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. Matt Strickland hit a solo-shot off Jimmy Turner in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

This year Strickland is batting .366 with 9 home runs.
