The Brooklyn Cyclones got a superb performance from pitcher Mario Pagan. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Scottsdale. The Scorpions won the game, 5-2. In spite of the loss, Pagan was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball. Scottsdale is last in the Prince Fielder League Tony Fernandez Division with a record of 19-27.
Bryce Pope, the six overall pick in the 2033 draft, aided the Scottsdale cause with a 3-run home run in the top of the first. For the game, the third baseman went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Scottsdale manager Marcel Devaux.
