With right fielder Tom Miles leading the charge, the Caribbean Commies defeated the Barbados Revenge, 5-4, at The Drunken Wench Stadium. Miles was 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Matthew Gottlieb picked up the save, his 14th. Barbados has now lost 5 consecutive games.
The Commies got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Orlando Sanchez. For the game, Sanchez went 1 for 1 with a home run. In the top of the ninth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Caribbean a 5-4 lead.
"We take it day by day here," said Sanchez, "and today was a good one for us."
