In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
With catcher Antonio Navarrette leading the charge, the Tunica Diamonds defeated the Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas, 7-0, at Scripps Field. Navarrette, who is rated as the 90th best prospect by BNN, went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Tunica starter Travis Panhorst was credited with the win after throwing 66 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Bobby Roche was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
Navarrette had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 3rd in the top of the sixth inning, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Diamonds went on to win.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Navarrette told the Tunica Today.
After today's action, Tunica sits at 21-21, while Boca Raton falls to 21-21.
