Rangers Lose, 9-5, at Scottsdale Stadium

With left fielder Jason Pinson leading the charge, the Scottsdale Scorpions defeated the Rockville Rangers, 9-5, at Scottsdale Stadium. Pinson was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. Scottsdale reliever Timmo Brown picked up the win to move to 3-2. Angel Ponce suffered the loss. Steve Higgins closed the door for Scottsdale, picking up his 11th save of the year.
Eric Kilpatrick, who is rated as the 83rd best prospect by BNN, aided the Scottsdale cause with a bases-clearing triple in the bottom of the second. For the game, the right fielder was 2-5 with a triple, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
Kilpatrick expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
The Scorpions raised their record to 17-25.
