Long Beach played host to Las Cruces at the friendly confines of Knockout Stadium by Brooklyn Decker.

The Long Beach KO defeated the Las Cruces Javalinas, 10-7, in Prince Fielder League action at Knockout Stadium by Brooklyn Decker, with Long Beach designated hitter Mike Matheny named player of the game. Bill Teague got credit for the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings.

Matheny had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a full count cutter from Pedro Cerna, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the KO a 10-7 lead. It was the 21st home run of the year for Matheny.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Matheny. "And not try to do too much."

The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Long Beach.
