Cyclones Turn Back Santa Barbara, 6-5
|
Dan Miller did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Santa Barbara Suenos from losing, 6-5, to the Brooklyn Cyclones at Vin Scully Park. Miller went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The win puts the Cyclones at 19-20, while the Suenos drop to 16-23.
The Cyclones got a big at-bat from catcher Ruben Montoya. For the game, Montoya was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Brooklyn a 6-3 lead.
In postgame comments to the Brooklyn Citizen, Montoya said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
