Revenge Clip Javalinas in Tight Contest
|
The Barbados Revenge topped the Las Cruces Javalinas by the score of 7-6, with the biggest share of the credit going to center fielder Mike Rizzo. Rizzo went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Revenge on the day. The Revenge bumped their record to 19-16 with this latest triumph.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Barbados second baseman Juan Lira, facing Danny Jensen, had a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. It gave the Revenge the 7-6 win.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Lira told the Barbados Daily News.
