Matt Strickland left his imprint on the 6-5 Tunica win against the El Paso Bomberos. Strickland, the seven overall pick in the 2034 draft, went 1-1 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win was Vicente Banderas's in relief. His record improves to 1-3. Jonathan Salas took the loss for El Paso. Vic Horn closed it out for his 6th save.

Strickland had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a full count fastball from Jonathan Salas, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Diamonds a 6-5 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Strickland.

"We'll savor this win," Strickland told the Tunica Today, "then get ready for the next game."

Tunica is in third place in the Prince Fielder League John Mayberry Division with a record of 17-17.
