Behind a solid performance from right fielder Chikao Yanagawa, the Long Beach KO defeated the Santa Barbara Suenos, 6-5. Yanagawa was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the KO. Harrison Morley picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-1. Luis Castillo was tagged with the loss. The first-place KO have won 4 consecutive games.

Yanagawa had a game-changing double in the bottom of the seventh. On a first pitch fastball from Luis Castillo, he banged a 2-run double to right, giving the KO a 5-3 lead. It was the 9th double of the year for Yanagawa.

"I like our mindset right now," said Long Beach manager Lorenzo Rodríguez.
