El Paso center fielder Chris Ricard was sensational. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Rockville beat the Bomberos, 6-5. Ricard was named the player of the game despite the loss. C.J. Harnack got credit for the save for Rockville. It was his 7th of the year. The Rangers bumped their record to 16-15 with this latest triumph.

It could have been a different outcome for Rockville, had it not been for Dave Newcombe, the 22-year old center fielder . Newcombe contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put Rockville up, 6-5.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Newcombe told the Rockville News.
