Late Rally by Scorpions Secures Win
|
The Scottsdale Scorpions defeated the Caribbean Commies, 4-3. Earning player of the game honors was left fielder Victor Huaracha, who was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs. Scottsdale reliever Dave Francisco got the win, raising his record to 1-5. Zaire Small was tagged with the loss. Steve Higgins earned the save for Scottsdale, his 5th of the year.
The Scorpions got a big at-bat from first baseman Bryan Wilson. For the game, Wilson went 1 for 4. In the top of the eighth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 27th hit of the season gave Scottsdale a 4-3 lead.
"I feel honored to be a part of this team," said Wilson.
With the win, Scottsdale has a record of 11-19. Caribbean falls to 19-11.
