Scorpions Topple Javalinas with Late Rally
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Travis Covert, the Scottsdale Scorpions defeated the Las Cruces Javalinas, 7-5. Covert went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2 for the Scorpions. The Scorpions now have a record of 9-15.
Covert had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a first pitch curveball from Danny Jensen, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Scorpions a 7-5 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Covert.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Covert said.
