The Eureka Hornets racked up a win at The Nest, bumping off the Kansas City Tornadoes, 6-4. Mitsunari Kobayashi, who started for Eureka, pitched effectively for his team. After today's action, Eureka sits at 44-49, while Kansas City falls to 41-48.
The Hornets got a big at-bat from first baseman Don Buller. For the game, Buller was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 11th home run of the season gave Eureka a 2-1 lead.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Eureka manager Stephen Jackson.
