Cyclones Win at Scottsdale, 4-1
|
The Brooklyn Cyclones got a strong performance from pitcher Ricky Espinosa, who stymied the Scottsdale offense en route to a 4-1 win at Scottsdale Stadium. Espinosa went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. His record improves to 2-0. The Scorpions fall to 4-9 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2034 season.
The Cyclones got a big at-bat from right fielder Marco Curiel. For the game, Curiel went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk. In the top of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 11th hit of the season gave Brooklyn a 2-1 lead.
"It was a good effort all around," said Espinosa.
