Danny Mena pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Las Cruces Javalinas, despite Mena's fine outing, dropped a 2-1 decision to the Rockville Rangers at Peccary Park. John Knight got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. The Javalinas fall to 5-7 and continue their uneasy start to the 2034 season.

The Rangers got a big at-bat from second baseman Jose Sanchez. For the game, Sanchez went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the seventh, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Rockville a 2-1 lead.

Sanchez called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
