Augusta and Brooklyn duked it out at Vin Scully Park and the Rail Riders came out victorious.

Augusta rode a decent outing from starter Bobby Rodriguez to victory over the Brooklyn Cyclones at Vin Scully Park. The final score was 4-2. Dale Loder locked down his 2nd save.

Had Rich Velasquez not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Velasquez hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Rail Riders.

Velasquez called the win "a collective effort."

Even with the win, it has been a disastrous start to the year for the Rail Riders, who once had aspirations of returning to the playoffs but now find themselves mired in last place at 3-7.
