Scottsdale got a terrific performance from first baseman Bryan Wilson, but it wasn't enough to beat the Rockville Rangers. Rockville won the Brewbaker Memorial Stadium contest, 4-2. Wilson was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 2-2 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. C.J. Harnack earned the save for Rockville, his 2nd. The Rangers, now 8-1, have been on a roll in the early going.
The Rangers got a big at-bat from right fielder Alex Alonso. For the game, Alonso was 2-3 with a triple. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 5th hit of the season gave Rockville a 3-2 lead.
"Being able to play a game for a living is one thing. Being able to play it well and contribute to a win is even better," Alonso told the Rockville News.
