The Minneapolis Freeze moved to within one game of the Triple A World Series today, downing the visiting Antioch Coal Miners at The Ice Box by a score of 3-2. Freeze right-hander Marcos Colón was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 8 innings of 5-hit ball. The win gives the Freeze a 4-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Triple A League Championship.

Colón, a native of Mexico, was dealing all game. He kept Antioch hitters off-balance, while giving the Freeze 8 quality innings. Colón threw 114 pitches, allowing 5 hits and striking out 7.

"Marcos is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Minneapolis manager John Justin.
