Minneapolis Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in R1
Despite a great performance by Antioch center fielder Tucker Slade, the Minneapolis Freeze defeated the Coal Miners by the score of 6-5 at The Ice Box today. Slade was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once to earn player of the game honors, but could not prevent the Freeze from moving one game closer to the Triple A World Series. Minneapolis now leads the Triple A League Championship 2-1.

Jorge Barrera went 2-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs for Minneapolis. In the bottom of the eighth, with the teams deadlocked, 5-5, Barrera delivered for the Freeze. His run-scoring sacrifice fly put Minneapolis on top, 6-5.

"It feels good to get this one," Barrera told the Minneapolis Today.

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow in Minneapolis. The scheduled starters for the game are Alejandro Ortega for the Antioch Coal Miners and Marcos Colón for the the Minneapolis Freeze.
