Suzuki, Antioch Start Triple A League Championship Strong with Home Win
The Antioch Coal Miners started the Triple A League Championship in style today, downing the visiting Minneapolis Freeze at The Coal Mine by a score of 7-6 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Coal Miners left fielder Tatsuhito Suzuki was named player of the game after he went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once.

Suzuki turned the game around in the bottom of the eighth. That's when the Antioch left fielder dialed up a 3-run home run. Just like that, Antioch's 6-4 deficit turned into a 7-6 lead.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Suzuki told the Antioch News. "It's as simple as that."

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at The Coal Mine. Slated to start are Jorge Olivo for the Minneapolis Freeze and Lúcio Barrón for the the Antioch Coal Miners.
