Schnoor, Cats Wallop Racers in Game 6 of R1
|
The Fort Worth Cats and the Bowling Green Racers will take the Triple A League Championship to a decisive 7th game. Facing a must-win situation at LaGrave Field today, the Cats beat the Racers 4-3 on a walk-off in extra innings to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Fort Worth third baseman Jerry Schnoor was named player of the game in the win after he was 3-6 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 11th. With two out, Schnoor hit a fastball from Cristoforo Giugino for a run-scoring single. The Cats, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Bowling Green skipper Jorge Magana, "and it cost us."
Game 7 is set to be played tomorrow. The scheduled starters for the game are Alain Picard for the Bowling Green Racers and He-ping Wang for the the Fort Worth Cats.
