Myers Handcuffs Racers, Cats Seize 2-0 Advantage in R1
|
With starter Don Myers leading the charge, the Fort Worth Cats defeated the Bowling Green Racers, 3-2, in Game 2 of the Triple A League Championship today. The left-hander threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball at LaGrave Field to help Fort Worth take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Had Adam Lowry not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 1st, Lowry hit a 2-run home run. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Cats.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Lowry said.
The next game is scheduled for Tuesday, October 17th, 2034 at Top of the Hill. Slated to start are He-ping Wang for the Fort Worth Cats and Luis Rodríguez for the the Bowling Green Racers.
