Martinez, Kings Wallop Mustangs in Game 5 of R2
The Atlantic City Kings have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading San Angelo Mustangs, winning 9-6 at The Royal Colosseum today. Kings left fielder Jose Martinez was named player of the game after he was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The win cuts the deficit facing the Kings to 3-2 in the best-of-7 Single A World Series.

In the bottom of the fifth, Atlantic City first baseman Héctor García had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, García stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 6-5, Atlantic City. For the game, he went 2 for 4 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Atlantic City skipper Wynn Decker.

Game 6 is set to be played Monday at Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium. The scheduled starters for the game are Jeremy Jefferson for Atlantic City and Sam Young for San Angelo.
