Rhinos Dominate, Sweep Divisional Round
|
Many baseball pundits expected a close series in the Roberto Clemente League Divisional Round. It turned out quite a bit different.
\nThe Rubber City Rhinos swept aside the Dallas Texans to advance to the Divisional Championship, winning the final game by a 3-2 score at The Rubber Grounds.
The series MVP was center fielder Oscar Costales, who hit .438 with a .526 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 4 runs.
"We expected this series to go right down to the wire, so to sweep is a bit of a surprise," he said. "But we'll take it."
The Rubber City Rhinos will play against the So Cal Republic in the next round. So Cal had a bye in the Divisional Round. The Divisional Championship schedule will be announced after the Divisional Round finishes.
