|
Starting pitcher Félix Reina pitched well enough to help the Portland Beavers beat the Rubber City Rhinos by the score of 5-3. Reina got the win, improving to 8-4. He allowed 6 hits and walked 5 over 5.1 innings. Reina allowed 2 earned runs. The third-place Beavers improved to 43-47.
Phil Kinch was 2-4 with a double, while scoring 2 times for Portland. The 27-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Sigfrid Arnim. It was his 19th RBI of the season.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Reina said.
