Tunica Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 3-2
|
The Tunica Diamonds have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Wichita Storm, winning 4-3 at Clam Jammer Dome today. Diamonds right-hander Travis Panhorst was named player of the game after he threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Diamonds to 3-2 in the best-of-7 Winter League Championship.
Antonio Navarrette had a clutch at-bat with no one out in the bottom of the eighth for the Diamonds. Coming up with the bases loaded and Tunica trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run double.
"I found a nice groove out there," said Panhorst.
The next game is scheduled for Friday in Wichita. Slated to start are Danny Suarez for the Tunica Diamonds and Tony de la Cruz for the the Wichita Storm.
