Raucous The Storm Center Crowd Propels Storm to 6-4 Victory; Series Tied at 3
|
The Wichita Storm and the Normal Nutcrackers will take the League Championship Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation today, the Storm beat the Nutcrackers 6-4 at The Storm Center to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Wichita left-hander Dave McCrudden was named player of the game in the win after he threw 8 innings of 3-hit ball.
Bill Hopgood chipped in for Wichita with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," McCrudden told the Wichita Observer.
Game 7 is set to be played tomorrow at The Storm Center. Slated to start are Cesar Alvarez for the Normal Nutcrackers and David Benitez for the the Wichita Storm.
