Martin, Long Beach Start League Championship Series Strong with Home Win
The Long Beach KO started the League Championship Series in style today, downing the visiting Tunica Diamonds at Knockout Stadium by Brooklyn Decker by a score of 6-4 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. KO center fielder Brian Martin was named player of the game after he went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice.

Matt Hartsell chipped in for Long Beach with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 runs batted in.

"Feels good to get the job done," Martin said after the game.

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow. The scheduled starters for the game are Roberto Bazan for the Tunica Diamonds and Trey Puglisi for the the Long Beach KO.
