Anderson, Buffaloes Sink Tigers Again in Game 2
|
Riding the 4-hit performance of first baseman Scott Anderson, the ORIX Buffaloes stopped the visiting Hanshin Tigers, 10-3, in Game 2 of the Japan Series Championship today. Anderson went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Buffaloes, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0.
Fu-chi Ming, who is rated as the 8th best prospect by BNN, aided the ORIX cause with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the second. For the game, the center fielder went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3.
"Every team in baseball loses," Tigers manager Bob Edwards said. "We're in the playoffs and we still have the same guys that got us here. We'll bounce back."
Game 3 is set to be played Tuesday at Ballpark of Otofuke College. Slated to start are Shuichiro Otsuka for ORIX and Santos Restrepo for Hanshin.
