Kean, Stars Wallop Legends in Game 7 of R1
|
The Niagara Stars moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Saskatoon Legends on the road at Ballpark of Red Deer College by a score of 4-3. Stars third baseman Tim Kean was named player of the game after he was 1 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The win gives the Stars a 4-3 advantage in the best-of-7 CBL League Championship.
The game turned with no one out in the top of the fifth when Kean, who is the 6th-best prospect in the Stars organization, hit a 2-run home run. It propelled the Stars into the lead, 3-1.
"This was a good win for us," said Kean. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
