Stars Clip Legends 1-0 in R1 Contest
|
The Niagara Stars and the Saskatoon Legends will take the CBL League Championship to a decisive 7th game. Facing a must-win situation today, the Stars shut out the Legends 1-0 at Ballpark of Red Deer College to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Niagara left-hander Seth McBrayer was named player of the game in the win after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings of shutout ball.
McBrayer gave Niagara a solid start. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 7 innings.
Legends manager Allen Cummings did not take questions after the game, telling assembled reporters that he would hold a press conference "if and when we win the CBL League Championship."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow. Slated to start are Gilbert Beckmann for Niagara and Jason Keeping for Saskatoon.
