Steele, Legends Wallop Stars in Game 5 of R1
|
Saskatoon shortstop Eddie Steele was the key at Drummondville College Grounds today, being named player of the game as he powered the Legends to victory in a critical Game 5 of the CBL League Championship. The Legends took the 5-4 win over the Niagara Stars to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.
This game was not decided until late. With no one out in the top of the ninth, Pearce Balcome hit a sacrifice fly. The Legends took the lead, 5-4.
"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Steele.
The next game is scheduled for Saturday. The scheduled starters for the game are Gilbert Beckmann for the Niagara Stars and Jason Keeping for the the Saskatoon Legends.
