Kavanagh, Legends Wallop Stars in Game 3 of R1
With designated hitter Burt Kavanagh leading the charge, the Saskatoon Legends got past the Niagara Stars, 6-5, in extra innings in Game 3 of the CBL League Championship today. Kavanagh went 3-4 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice at Drummondville College Grounds as Saskatoon managed to take to a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Late-game drama came in the top of the tenth inning. With no one out and the bases empty, the batter, Mike McCluskie, hit a single. It helped Saskatoon seize the win.

"We've got a great group of guys," Kavanagh said, "and we're having fun right now."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Drummondville College Grounds. The scheduled starters for the game are Jason Keeping for the Saskatoon Legends and Gilbert Beckmann for the the Niagara Stars.
