When he got to Pleasantville, Bret Cook was just worrying about staying on the roster. Today, he was starring in the Little League World Series.

The 15-year-old rookie right-hander shut out the visiting Montreal Cardinals 2-0 in a remarkable performance at Stealth Ballpark today. With the win, the Panthers took a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 Little League World Series.

Cook allowed no earned runs on 4 hits over 6.2 innings for the Panthers. He walked 0 and struck out 10.

"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Cook.

Game 6 is scheduled for Wednesday, June 7th, 2034. Slated to start are Sean Harris for the Pleasantville Panthers and Pat Hamilton for the the Montreal Cardinals.
