The Pleasantville Panthers started the Little League World Series in style today, winning on the road against the Montreal Cardinals at Nezahualcoyotl HS Grounds by a score of 8-3 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Panthers first baseman Adam Fisher was named player of the game after he was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3.

Bruce Allison, who is rated as the 20th best prospect by BNN, chipped in for Pleasantville with a 2-run home run in the top of the first. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.

"It was a good day but I'm not letting my guard down," Allison said. "I'll let my guard down as soon as someone puts a big, fat championship ring on my finger."

Game 2 is set to be played tomorrow at Nezahualcoyotl HS Grounds in Montreal. The scheduled starters for the game are Sean Harris for the Pleasantville Panthers and Pat Hamilton for the the Montreal Cardinals.
