Victory Over Fuego Takes Hawaii to 55-36
|
The rain at The Fire House did not keep Hawaii and Santa Fe from finishing their game.
The Hawaii Islanders picked up a win at The Fire House, knocking off the Santa Fe Fuego, 5-2. Starting pitcher David Guzman played a key role in the triumph. Guzman picked up the win for Hawaii, going 6 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 11-2. Bernalldo Rocchi notched his 17th save in 20 chances.
Douglas Dannattet aided the Hawaii cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth. For the game, the designated hitter went 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
Guzman called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
The Islanders bumped their record to 55-36 with this latest triumph.
