Rangers Win at Augusta, 7-4
|
Ethan Williams left his imprint on the 7-4 Rockville win against the Augusta Rail Riders. Williams went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk. Chris Corey finished to wrap up his 1st save. With their winning streak at 5, the Rangers have raced to a strong start this season.
The Rangers got a big at-bat from catcher Dave Newcombe. For the game, Newcombe was 1-5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the third, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Rockville a 3-0 lead.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Newcombe said.
