Rail Riders Jolt KO with Late Rally
|
Fans who came to Knockout Stadium by Brooklyn Decker watched the Augusta Rail Riders and the Long Beach KO fight to the finish.
Augusta beat Long Beach at Knockout Stadium by Brooklyn Decker, eking out a 3-2 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Fernando Santana, who earned player of the game honors. Justin Gilmore nailed down his 1st save.
Augusta needed the clutch hitting of Gregorio Mora to notch the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Rail Riders on top, 3-2. For the game, Mora had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It feels good to get this one," Mora told the Augusta Times.
The Rail Riders keep rolling, raising their record to 2-1.
