Javalinas Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
|
The Las Cruces Javalinas defeated the Barbados Revenge, 7-3. Earning player of the game honors was right fielder George Nash, who went 2 for 3 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Las Cruces reliever Stephon Jackson picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Bubba Pell absorbed the loss. Losses have been rare for the Revenge, who are now 4-1.
Nash had a big at-bat with the bases empty in the bottom of the sixth inning, when he hit a solo home run. The Javalinas went on to win.
"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Nash.
