The Santa Barbara Suenos and Rockville Rangers provided some drama at Brewbaker Memorial Stadium.
The Rockville Rangers topped the Santa Barbara Suenos, 3-2, in Prince Fielder League action at Brewbaker Memorial Stadium. The player of the game was Rockville pitcher and Yanai, Japan native Osamu Murakami. In 7 innings, Murakami surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. Pat Petty earned the save, his 1st, for the Rangers.
Rafael Santos aided the Rockville cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the catcher was 2-4 with 2 singles.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Rockville manager Anthony Weinstein.
Rockville, now 4-1, has gotten their season off to a good start.
