Rail Riders Stun Fighting Iguanas, 3-2

The 2034 season is off to a good start for the Augusta Rail Riders. The hometown Rail Riders knocked off the Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas, 3-2, at Murderer's Row. Augusta pitcher Fidel Betancourt was named player of the game. Dale Loder was credited with the save for Augusta, his 1st of the season.
Had Joel Moroney not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Moroney hit a 2-run home run. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Rail Riders.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Moroney.
