Multi-HR Day for DiPirro as Lions Overpower Mustangs, 12-9
The Lerna Lions bested the Downsview Mustangs, 12-9, at Ballpark of Ecatepec HS. Logan DiPirro was named player of the game. He went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Lerna reliever Jesus Ayon picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Josh Cargill was saddled with the loss. Jeff Roe converted his 10th save in 13 tries.

The Lions got a big at-bat from second baseman Bryan Brogan. For the game, Brogan went 1 for 5. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 76th hit of the season gave Lerna a 7-6 lead.

"We'll savor this win," DiPirro told the Lerna News, "then get ready for the next game."

The Lions' win now puts them at 28-33.
