Lancers Get One-Run Win at Francis Lewis
The Canby Lancers racked up a win at Ottawa HS Grounds, bumping off the Francis Lewis Patriots, 5-4. Jesse Bitar, who started for Canby, pitched effectively for his team. Bitar, the winner, moves to 5-3. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 11 and giving up 2 walks. Chad Kula was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 11 of 13 save opportunities.

Brian Griffith hit a run-scoring triple off Justin Stewart in the top of the seventh, which put the Lancers in front, 4-3. Griffith had 3 singles, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 4 for 5.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Francis Lewis manager Justin Easton. "The effort was great."

Canby's record now stands at 28-32, placing them 4th in the Pete Rose League Roger Clemens Division.
