Fans who came to The Rubber Grounds watched the San Diego Hops and the Rubber City Rhinos fight to the finish.

The San Diego Hops eked out a 4-3 win versus the Rubber City Rhinos at The Rubber Grounds. Nobody did more than shortstop Manuel Ríos, who captured player of the game honors. Mitsuzuka Koyama notched his 15th save in 20 chances.

Ríos had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a full count fastball from Shinzo Sasaki, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Hops a 4-3 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Ríos.

"We played a good game and came out on top," said Ríos.

San Diego is now 33-52.
