Strong Excels, But Mustangs Win
Downsview and Montreal engaged in a slugfest at Visigoths Stadium.

Downsview withstood an impressive performance by Montreal center fielder J.D. Strong to defeat the Cardinals, 14-11, at Visigoths Stadium. Strong belted 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. Downsview's record now stands at 28-32, placing them third in the Pete Rose League Alex Rodriguez Division.

The Mustangs got a big at-bat from left fielder Thomas Crawford. For the game, Crawford went 1 for 5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Downsview a 10-8 lead.

In postgame comments to the Downsview Daily, Crawford said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
